    New Brake set up

hi - did you fit the servo in the end? and how do the Fosseway discs perform with it? Also, you said that you need to have '73-on spindles, but Fosseway advertise this for the crossover and don't say they require latebay spindles altho they do recommend latebay discs...? any feedback would be v...

    1776cc with 34 pic carb?

hope this information might help the discussion a little - Guido Wensing converted my carb (he did Harry's also) from 34PICT3 to 37mm - with following jet sizes selected to run 1776 on mild cam Main: 160 Aircorrection: 60z Pilot (idle): 60 Power (auxiliary): 60 Guido also advised "It is...

    Yet another engine problem!

indeed - as I said, beware - as "the mixing and safety rules" stipulate - and "keep it in the pipe" i.e. avoid the external alloy metalwork take care Rob

    Yet another engine problem!

you probably did this already, but hot caustic soda worked v well on my blocked heat risers - observe the mixing & safety rules!! and keep it inside the pipe if poss!! - combin with the old clutch cable in the drill method - so work at the blocked ends with the cable, then fill & soak both ends...

    Dirty Harry's westy

thanks Harry - then I shall do the same!! I am going to set the new engine up on a rolling road so we can get the gas mixtures correct for the engine under different loads, so shall see then how the carb performs - will be interesting to see the power curve data!! I am basically looking for...

    Dirty Harry's westy

hi - a classic example of true Epicureanism - magnificent!! can I ask about the 37mm carb - I've just had my Solex 34/3 carb converted by Guido Wensing to a 37mm to fit to a 1776 - build spec exactly like yours - can you tell me what jets you run in the carb? I run my bus on lpg (it's...

If you don't have one...get one!

hi - lpg is the best alteration I have made to my bus - it runs very much better than petrol, neither hotter nor cooler, more torque at low revs but slightly less overall power at higher revs, for some reason. The oil stays clean for very much longer, also the plugs and the exhaust system, as...

If you don't have one...get one!

I like the way you also chose a bike rack which lets you open the engine lid directly, without faffing about with removing bikes and struts etc first - I've done the same, after trying several bike racks that would take at least several minutes to remove before the engine lid can be opened - a...

Early Devon pop-top solar panel cable routing

well well hi to all the Johnson clan!! would be good to catch up with y'all sometime again... why don't you perm mount the panel to the pop top roof - then you can drill through the metal sheet of the pop top and run the cables direct into the interior roof space - run them along the base of...

Early Devon pop-top solar panel cable routing

are you mounting the panel permanently to the roof? I have same kind of Devon pop top as you, had it all off and refurbed - you could drill through the fibreglass plinth but I would avoid it as opens way to cracking and crazing and hitting the tin roof behind it...and anyway I like to keep...
