    Does anyone remember ?

In my experience if you park with hazards on in a VW the next VW to pass is likely to stop. Had it happen just the other week. I even had someone check when I stopped on the Breeze once to watch cars and vans go past.

    At last…

Slow to reply, sorry, been away in the Isle of Man! Some nice comments and chats, especially a guy not far away who is also on here (not many Earlybay’s nearby at all though). The show itself isn’t the best, stalls are mostly tat and not really of interest plus the vast majority of cars in the...

    At last…

…. after eight months the van is back from welding, a respray and new headliner. Off to the show at Redcar tomorrow so cutting it fine! Those who recall my old van May remember all the bling. I think I’ve got most of the same on now but with home-made trim on the air intakes and chromed dash...

    '67 DeLuxe nearly done...

I’ve not bothered them since it went in last October so really not sure! I didn’t want to risk any rushed jobs. Can’t wait though.

    '67 DeLuxe nearly done...

I promised pics of the work being done on the bus, just been to the workshop as it's back from the respray and was having the headliner fitted. Windows due in today so hopefully 'job done' pics won't be long. In the meantime here are two pics, one taken today and the other of the old Crossover...

Where's best for new starter motor?

I had issues buying a new starter motor a while back. First one didn’t work so took it back, had to wait for another to be delivered so I was given one from the exchanges box. It was fitted just in case, worked and is still on the van!

    67 DeLuxe

Good point. It’s been removed and was black when I got the van. I had been wondering about chroming the vent surrounds more than painting but will ask about both after Christmas. Ta! The door card is perfect too, the sticker being where it can be seen not behind the cooker.

    67 DeLuxe

Popped in today to drop off the replacement door card and the van is sat ready for the call to the paint guys. Not that much grey for a 67 bus, apparently one of the most solid they have worked on.

    67 DeLuxe

White works for me, keeping it very much ‘as is’.

    67 DeLuxe

Not been posting for a while but now have pics worth sharing. I’ve had the current van for eleven years now and it got to the time when some welding was needed. We moved to just north of Whitby five years ago and luckily found a reputable place run by VW people, Resto Restorations. They have now...

    Bamboo parcel shelf

I think I got mine from Coolair, has been good for me. It’s important not to have a solid one in case of a crash I guess.

Scarborough Surf Festival 9th October 2021

Not much info anywhere yet but a Facebook post by Fairbanks & Craven says there will be a lineup, I believe of air cooled VWs. Will post when there is more info. Not been to a decent lineup since we moved north four years ago!

Somebody I know in Sittingbourne has sold their van as the guy sadly died last year. He was a bit of a tool inventor and his bits and pieces are off to the dump unless somebody local wants them. Not having posted for ages I cannot see how to get a screenshot up of the stuff available but maybe...
