    Crossover kick panels

Guys I'm after a pair of black plastic kick panels for my 72 crossover which has low indicators early-style but brake fluid reservoir behind the driver's seat which I think is crossover only. Neither the early nor the late kick panel shapes e.g. at Machine 7 look quite right...

    Uh oh ... engine trouble

Bang on the money, Ozziedog. A cracked head. So ... rebuild as a full flow 1776cc happening as we speak. In the meantime, I'm taking the opportunity to get all the tinware and the mounting bar powder coated, along with the bumpers and irons. D

    Tuning in wakefield area!

Take it to Bogg Brothers near Malton. Only a scenic hour from you. Dave Bogg has been tuning Type 1s since they were invented and has the rolling road and all the other kit to do it. http://www.boggbros.co.uk/about.html Extremely good value. Dan [edited to add link]

May I ask who you got the flaps & bits & bobs from? I'd like to reinstate mine...

    Uh oh ... engine trouble

With inlet manifolds & carbs removed, I don't think throttle could be any wider! Reset all the valve clearances and re-ran the tests with similar results - #2 cylinder is way down. Did the added-oil test before and it helped (50 -> 70 psi) so it looks like piston rings. D

    Uh oh ... engine trouble

Hi all Whilst upgrading to ICT34s (see http://forum.earlybay.com/viewtopic.php?uid=14236&f=4&t=59873&start=0) I have hit another problem. I was in the midst of adding a balance pipe to try to get my crossover to idle on all 4 cylinders instead of only 2 and 3. With the manifolds out, I thought...

    Drilling and tapping manifolds

Thanks, makes sense. :) Servo packed up years ago - replacing it will be the next project, at which time I'll tee it into the balance pipe... D

    Drilling and tapping manifolds

Cheers. Don't anyone ever assume I have the faintest clue what I'm doing! I'd much rather look stupid on here than knacker my bus... I've managed to find an old boy round the corner with one of those workshops that contains about 60 years worth of fabrication kit who's going to drill and tap...

    Drilling and tapping manifolds

Thanks. Think I'll get some elbow fittings which may give marginally more clearance. Also seems sensible to attach the balance pipe to the rear (of the bus) side of the manifolds so it's in sight in case of leaks etc. Suitable elbows: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/321255173815 Dan

    Drilling and tapping manifolds

Hi all Finally got round to upgrading my Solex carb to twin Webber ICT34's and an EMPI linkage kit from Eurocarb But having fitted it all, I can't get it to idle on all four cylinders - it's only using 2 and 4. From reading around the forums, two fixes for this are suggested: Add a balance...
