Found what the problem was. Not sure what order they happened in, but found rear O/S cylinder broke near mounting so was loose, small amount of brake fluid in drum, and friction material completely disappeared from shoes. Not too difficult to put right. Nothing to do with having changed the...

I find mine starts best from warm by slowly pressing the accel pedal to floor (to minimise fuel added by accel pump on carb), cranking until it fires, which it usually does quite quickly (but not as quick as from cold), then releasing pedal. HTH, bri
