I've got a pair of 72 crossover seats in my 71 earlybay. The covers and shape of the seats are slightly different but all the fixings are the same and there completely interchangeable. Mines a walk through by the way.

    Csp beam adjuster bolt

Hi Just fitting a lower beam onto my bus and have noticed one of the grub screws which bolts through the adjuster and into the beam is damaged. Does anyone have a spare laying about or know where I could by a replacement as I don't really want to buy a complete new adjuster. Have looked at...

Can you get replacement LED dash bulbs?

I got mine from the company below http://www.lightec-autostyle.co.uk/ready-leds-push-c-8_40.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; It made a huge difference, before i couldn't read the speedo or fuel gauge at all after dark. I do have to say the old bulbs were very black so new...

    71 delux driveway resto

Headliner looks great. Are the joins in line with the roof strengthing ribs? My original template has a smaller section in the middle meaning that the join is in mid air but think it might be easier to make join in line with the rib so I can screw the joiner into them if I need to? The original...

Large flange or small flange on a singleport?

small flange will be fine for any stock engine. in fact you'll fine it quite hard to buy a large flange system these days unless its a fully merged system.

    different dynamo sizes

Hi I've just swopped the dynamo on a recently built engine as the original wasn't working, but the new dynamo appears to be too long and the belt doesn't line up. If i measure its 10mm longer than the old one! Any ideas? i'm not aware of 2 different pulleys to match different dynamos! the one...

    Flat spot

009 don't work very well because they rely on revs to bring in the advance but advance is need to get to that point in the rev range and hence the flat spot. With a SVDA dissy the vacuum produces advance before the revs increase so the revs increase a lot quicker and more smooothly. It is a...

    Timing Advice Please

That seems the norm, i've got mine at 28deg but 30 should be ok but it sits at 0deg at idle, i guess mines got more adavance than most. i've double checked several times.

Near Side Rear Brake Drum Binding - advice please

It sounds like hoses collapsing to me. Its hard to tell from looking at the hoses so unless there quite new i would replace them, best do both sides. It seem to be a common problem, i had it happen to the front of my bay and have the same problem with beetles several times over the years.

    Removing crank pulley

I assume your using a stock pulley. you've just about got it. the only thing i would suggest is that u use a puller which goes through the holes near the center of the pulley. If you use a normal 3 leg puller on the outer edge it will bend the pulley and crush the v which the belt sits in...
