They are all ways I bit tight,
After you have strung the window rubber lube up the rubber seal with some diluted washing up liquid
Get some one on the out side of the bus holding the window in place , you have to push the window quite hard in to the aperture and occasionally whack it in...
Regarding the end play the rule of thumb is you should be able to feel it but not see it,
If you can see the pulley moving you have too much,
on the other hand my brothers bus has a mile of end play and he drove it to spa and back with out a hitch, it dose make a bit of a knocking noise now...
Just do it your self it's quite easy
All you need is a welder and a grinder and a bit of mechanical know how, air cooled vw,s are very easy to work on and you get a lot of job satisfaction,
