    Red 9 FRONTEND+MWS 17s FOOSCH

I was looking at your setup and am very interested in it. Next month I am having a Red9 front end fitted and I currently own almost the same wheels and tyres as you. I was hoping if you could answer a few questions for me. - Am I correct in saying you have your Red9 setup at its 2nd highest...

Any one running on 17" wheels

To each their own on stance, what that means ride and your budget. Mine is down a notch at the back and couple at the front on an adjustable beam. The ride is firm at the front  I would not say it is on stilts but that is all relative. Being slammed at 17's will be some work and $$...

Wanted :: Wood headliner patterns 71 tin top

Am seeking some patterns to make my own wood headliner for all roof sections of my 71 Bay. Would have been happy to buy a pre-made kit except shipping and likely damage getting to Australia sets me back. E-mailed a couple of UK suppliers and did not receive any replies so figured it was in the...

Dropped Spindles & 17 inch wheels question

Actually I was meaning not the double wishbone setup which looks great but rather the EZ RIDER COIL-OVER CONVERSION KIT – BAY WINDOW CAMPER http://www.red9design.com/type2.htm" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; The cheaper kit is a mod to the beam replacing the torsion bars and...

Dropped Spindles & 17 inch wheels question

Thanks Aspro. As you mention coilover shocks I note that Red9 have a coilover shock setup called EZ rider. Would this give me a similar stance and better ride than the adjustable beam setup I have now?

Dropped Spindles & 17 inch wheels question

Figured out a way to share some before and after shots avoiding the EB forum attachment issue. Links below. Before: The day I inspected it. Already lowered and with standard wheels. https://www.sugarsync.com/pf/D6453721_3744784_955615" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; Today: Note...

Dropped Spindles & 17 inch wheels question

Thanks guys helpful responses. Plenty of food for thought. Am starting to lean towards biting the bullet and going full red9 wishbone setup and being able to play more easily with stance & ride. I don't really need to drop it further, my aim is ride comfort. Was planning on attaching the photos...

Dropped Spindles & 17 inch wheels question

Thanks for the response. The tyres are 95 load rating so should be good there. No narrowed beam :? I guess the rubbing is a major part of my concern. We do not get rubbing now with the adjustable beam but if we go back to the stock beam setting and rely on the dropped spindles for the drop...

Dropped Spindles & 17 inch wheels question

Have been searching around the forum for an answer on this and couldn't find it and also asked Transporterhaus and they suggested here too. I have a 71 bay with adjustable beam which was lowered and set prior to me buying it. I added 17x7 wheels with 215/50 tyres without any rubbing (same...

Real world fuel economy improvement from a gearbox change

Uber I have 215/50 series on 17x7. Did this to keep the speedo as close to stock as possible. So should be good there.

Real world fuel economy improvement from a gearbox change

Am seeking some advice hopefully from those who have gone before. I have a 71 bus with a 1915cc motor in it and a 1600 gearbox (with a 5.38 crown & pinion). Any motorway cruising >50mph has it revving much more than I find comfortable and have heard a 2L (091) box with its 4.57 crown wheel &...
