Thanks sparkywig, but I had already seen this post but it is different to mine as it is the earlier style.
I have searched on here, google, thesamba, vzi, but cannot find any pics of the late flap spring fitted. I can find plenty with it loose.
Lightened Flywheels are good for lighter weight higher revving vehicles.
In a camper people generally stick with standard weight. lightened will make a beetle more free revving.
When you take your foot of pedal revs will drop quickly with lightened, heavier flywheels revs drop slowly.
I would say no, mine don't and they are original shocks with vw part number on.
Mine have a thin washer either side of shock top and bottom.
I just replaced mine with kyb gas adjusts and fronts needed spacers as they are narrower but rears were same.
I have a crossover bay that a took the fuel flap off to take and get some paint mixed.
Anyway I didn't get the paint straight away and lost the spring, I ordered a new one from Heritage but I don't know how to fit it correctly.
I have fitted it with the rounded part to where it bolts to bus...

I have just bought a European spec (3 screw headlamps) '72 crew cab but it is LHD I know I can get RHD lenses for it but the reflectors are a bit rusty. I was wondering how difficult it would be to fit later single screw Hella H4 lamps?
What do you need to change?
