Also fitted up the oil cooler and fan, just need to fit the oil temp gauge now so I can keep an eye on things, but that can wait as at least it will be getting cooled now if the temps get too much.

Gave the old bus a bit of a clean up today before heading to Oldbar Beach Festival this week.

So took the bus out for a good 250km test drive today and it went really well. Didn’t loose too much speed going up some really big hills apart from one where a driver in front of me slowed to a ridiculous speed then sped off again and I was stuck between gears, going to fast to change down, too...

Yeah the local tyre shop is pretty good like that, going away in the bus for a week next month so hopefully it all goes well.

All heaters tubes are now in and took it for its first test drive tonight, screams at 105 mph so think I’ll have to put my 6 rib in to bring the revs down a bit. But apart from that I’m super happy.

Got my new wheels sorted today, so they’ll go on the bus tomorrow and it’ll be almost finished

Turns out it was my old electronic dizzy that gave up the ghost, so swapped it out for a new Magnaspark unit and it fired into life straight away .

It’s in and nearly running, just having a wiring issue to sort out as not starting now, even though we had it running nicely on the stand.

Yep, definitely shouldn’t drink and post. 😂

Just working with what I’ve got, this way I didn’t have to buy a new crankcase, just pistons and barrels as well as new heads with big valves (40mm and 35mm)

case is ready for pistons and barrels now too, just need to order a new flywheel and a couple of other bits and pieces. Now I’m toying with the idea of hard fuel lines too after seeing this.

And it was DIRTY!!!! But it has been cleaned up now and case has been bored for the 94mm barrels and the assembly can hopefully begin.

So now the motor is out again to get rebuilt, the stock 1600 single port just isn’t enough anymore, so now it’s about to be rebuilt into a 1916cc it was going to be a 1641 but that will be my spare engine instead.

Over the Kings Birthday long weekend we headed to the Old Bar Beach festival, so many kombis there it was great.
