Same problem for me. I still can't find the fuel filler neck that I removed to restore about 6 months ago ! 😃

    1970 Devon Resto

I've been doing a lot of work in the engine bay, trying to get it ready for when the gearbox comes back from being rebuilt in a few weeks. I'm having it upgraded to the late bay ratios by swapping the ring and pinion which should make it much more driveable. I used to find that modern cars would...

There is some rust on the front, but they were working fine when I took them off and seem too good to throw away. Collect or arrange a courier from East Molesey KT8 Nick

    Parts For Sale Roof Hammocks

I think I bought these from just kampers about 10 years ago for my kids to sleep in the roof void. They do fit a slim adult but are a probably best for children. They're lightweight with the bars being aluminium and the canvas is really nice quality and will go through the washing machine. I...

Thanks Ozziedog :) One of the team is still keen and was doing a great job cleaning up and fitting the carbs last weekend. Clutch plate is the next (joint) job. Looking forward to getting to some events this year.

Sold 1969 original Devon Torvette sold

Incredible condition. Seems like a bargain when I think what I've spent on mine over the years.

Getting there... slowly. Finally started connecting up the electrics, having done any other job possible for the last few months to avoid it. Actually quite enjoying it now I've got over the mental block. Aiming for it being drivable by June.

I'm no expert here so wouldn't take my advice but I was planning on disconnecting all circuits at the fuse box end except the one I want to test. And then initially just touching the + terminal to the battery to make sure I don't fry anything before testing it for a bit longer. Open to any...

The seats were new from Newton Commercial about 14 years ago. They look good but I'm 6' 2" and the backs don't seem to fit me very well. Too much shoulder and not enough lumbar. Might get them redone at some point.

    1970 Devon Resto

Progress has been slower than I'd hoped as my wife had a bike accident in September (broken bones etc) which meant that I had to take on full family duties for a few months. But I found ways of still doing some work by getting my two girls to join in with the rebuild. It slowed progress a lot...

I'm plodding on with the rebuild and have made some decent progress but have run into a few issues that I'm hoping someone can help with. When I refit the steering column tube, it looks like I'm missing a seal between the tube and the clamp. The Haynes manual shows one but I can't seem to find...

New in the VW community with a 68 westy !

My fuel pump membrane failed once and let petrol into the engine oil which seized the engine. Might be worth checking the oil doesn't smell of petrol before you go on a test drive.

    1970 Devon Resto

Hi All, Thought my resto might be of interest and I will most likely need some advice along the way. My girlfriend (now wife) and I bought the van back in 2003 and overhauled the interior to go on a two month trip through Europe and Morocco in 2004. We had a few wheel bearing issues but it...
