    Buddy the bus: 69 Dormobile

The bus has been on the back-burner for a while as the guy doing the bodywork has to get a split double cab ready for Volksworld and I said from the start I didn’t need mine back until spring, but it’s now painted and going back together. I will be seeing it on Friday but got sent these….

    Buddy the bus: 69 Dormobile

I feel your pain, 1 job always becomes 2 on this bus, not that I mind, better to do it all properly. I thought your leopard print was a style choice, not a clever way to hide stuff! Nice work….

    Buddy the bus: 69 Dormobile

It’s a keeper so inevitably I’ve got to get it done. Having decent-fit panels and someone who is very good at working on them makes the process quite enjoyable to be honest, I don’t have the time or space to do much on it myself. Probably won’t enjoy getting the bill though…..

    Buddy the bus: 69 Dormobile

It is, it was “restored” almost 20 years ago, now it’s being done properly.

    Buddy the bus: 69 Dormobile

It’s only when you start stripping down a 52 year old bus that you start to see what’s really going on, and I always expected that 1 job would become 2, part and parcel of ownership. its worth spending money on decent quality parts and I’ve always used Schofields, it’s worth the extra especially...

    Buddy the bus: 69 Dormobile

Well it’s been a long while since the last update, the bus has been giving us plenty of memories as always with various trips and festivals….….but the old boy needed some work and it was time to book him in. I knew the front panel was shot under the windscreen, the bottom seemed solid from...

Definitely, ideal for something quick or if it’s raining. I remember being given a baked bean toastie years ago, shouldn’t work, but it does.

    Buddy the bus: 69 Dormobile

So a couple of weeks ago we decided to go to Latitude festival, we had a few friends going for the long weekend and coincided with the kids breaking up from school. We headed up early on the Friday morning and met friends with their late bay just outside, 3 hour drive without a break as we...

Back on the Sprintstars, long, long story but Heritage are truly rubbish. Still, I always liked the Sprints. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Well, finally feels like things are starting to return to normality again, even been camping! Went for a long weekend to one of our favourite sites, just under an hour from home, weather was decent apart from a rainy afternoon. Got all set up and the coffee on before the rain.... Didn’t last...

    Spot the bodge....

Probably a struggle to drill through 4 inches of filler to fit it.... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Spot the bodge....

Surprisingly it didn’t sell, so in order to really make it attractive he’s increased the classified ad price by £5k. I’m really tempted....[emoji1785] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Spot the bodge....

This bus is currently on eBay, described as “beautiful condition” but clearly the vendor is either clueless or smoking something. So, as a bit of fun, see what you can find wrong with it. So far I’ve got: Wrong front panel Front panel full of filler Near side sill full of filler Sliding door...

Yes it does feel good, and for £30 I’m sure will outlast 2 cheap ones that would cost the same amount. Nice to have a change of wheels, if only just 2 for now! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Buddy the bus: 69 Dormobile

So dropped the van off as planned last week, just over an hour away and all going well until I was just over a mile away: went to pull away from the lights and I was in 3rd gear and not 1st. Odd. Selected 1st again and went to pull away....3rd again. Only had 3rd and 4th, no 1st or 2nd. Managed...
