We are going to embark on our first trip overseas in our van and thought it might be an idea to get breakdown cover!
Seems a but pricey for a weeks trip as AA just quoted me 90 squid.
Being the skinflint that I am was wondering if any of you have got cover for cheaper than this?
Hi there,
Don't know if your still looking for info on this ...
We had the same question last year just before using the van for my bros wedding!
We had a set of white wall's which were basically a rubber disc (like an aerobie) that slipped between the tyre and the rim.
The problem with these...
We used our van for our bros wedding. It was great, the only thing which was a little but nail bitey was whether or not he would start on the day when crunch time came. He did, but I'm glad we had a local taxi number as back up!
oh crubbush! Is that the case
We basically wanted to stop having to carry to spare wheels, as have wide 5 on front and 5 narrow on back. Its a real hastel having to lug 2 wheels about and now that we have another little bean on the way we need all the space we can get! My wife hates...
Hey guys,
The selbsters are about to ask another question!
We are about to buy some wheel adapters for the front of our van, a pair of 5 x 112 to 5 x 205 as we have disks set up there and was wondering if you guys could help us out with a question.
We have seen 2 places that do these...
The van is blue (neptune blue I think) with a white roof and white(ish) pop.
your right about colour matching a white - when I used to work in the bathroom industry there was no such thing as a white suite.
I think i'll get a colour code off the guy who's spraying them.
Here's a pic of our van...
love the red bumpers ... they are really striking against the black.
makes me wonder whether to pick something other than white???
but on second thoughts I can probably touch up white in future when it gets chiped.
No they are not completely shot.
Imagine they've been impounded by the police, crushed, sat on by an elephant and rounded up by police dogs ... well those were the good ones we turned down cos they were tooooooo expensive!!!
Not sure about the hourly rate!!! methinks that may...
Yes there are four holes in the middle of the rear bumper where a tow bar would have been. And then there are maybe two other little patches. I think Nat wasn't aware of the welding when she popped the first post up - bless!!
Also the other 'tweak' is round the mounts to the irons where they...
Hi Guys thanks for all the advice.
We are going to spray them - most of the dings are dents we can pop out but there are just one or two that we will probably fill (much to my wifes disgust!!) so powder coat won't take to it and we will stick to wet paint.
We have however got the bumpers back...
Hi guys,
just on the off chance that someone out there has a spare pair of these we are on the hunt for
wheel adaptors 5x112 to 5x205 (1 pair)
Thanks for looking
Nat
Hi Clem now I do look really stupid as the husband has just highlighted to me that it says 5 wide fornt hubs on your post topic subject and we dont need those, we need the back ones! Sorry matey
Re-read my post and am thinking sound like a negative old bint, when actually I love owning Wilf. Think It might be more to do with the fact that the sun is shining and I'm flaffing about on the puter!
Just needed to vent my frustration auggggghhhhhhhhhhhhh!
I never realised how hard it is to source parts! Ive spent the last 2 days ringing up peeps trying to find a rear back plate for our 69 van.
I never knew that there were 4 different versions of this produced between 68-72! At least I know...
