    New 1971 Bay

Hey, Sorry not an expert (relatively new to camper ownership) but a few pumps of the accelerator pedal before trying to start it usually helps ours if that's something you haven't already tried. 6 pumps for some reason appears to be the magic number. Hope you can get going soon!

    Cylinder head replacement

Hi all, We've found a crack on the cylinder head (Cylinders 3 & 4) between the spark plug and valve apertures. It seems to propagate through the spark plug thread and to the surface. Been advised this is more likely in need of replacement than repair. Any advice on where's best to buy from...

Fab pics, thanks for sharing! We will have to make it along next year.

    Progress Pics - Dormobile X-Over

Ah we've been mostly flicking back and forth between pages of the Haynes manual! Must print something bigger (and on one page) when we're back in the office.

    Progress Pics - Dormobile X-Over

Feeling the pain of trying to sort through the wiring. Ours looks like spaghetti, whilst I'm dreading sorting it all out I can't wait to understand what is what! Any tips for keeping track?

    Freddie

Not updated here for a while! Didn't do too much on Freddie over winter beyond keeping him running & enjoying a few trips out. At the start of lockdown we decided we'd get the engine out & start to investigate a couple of small oil leaks we'd noticed. Also removed the rusty engine lid as it...

    Caffeine and Machine

Only just seen this, we've been a couple of times, only once since we've had the camper though. Its about 20mins away for us so if there's another trip give us a shout!

    Mr Chutney - RIP

Hi Mrs C, really sorry to hear of your loss. I'm new to early bays myself so don't have a huge amount of advice to give, however my mum was in a similar situation with her T5 van Gino last year after my dad passed away unexpectedly. Admittedly no restoration to handle, but she'd never really...

Oxfordshire campsite - back to basics!

Thanks for sharing this - I'll be adding it to our list! Imagine poor reviews are people that didn't research it properly, but seems absolutely fine if you know what to expect!

    Freddie

Matty - we love the caravan park pic too. Freddie was so much smaller than all the others there but held his own well! Sparky -thank you for the tips, we got there in the end! No seals between headlight & body which may not have helped? Took a fair bit of force but eventually flew off. Think...

Any tips for headlight removal? Ours are very stuck in place!

    Freddie

Will do! Have a few rusty spots I'm sure we'll be sticking some pics up for advice on how best to attack!

    Freddie

Seems to be! Need to investigate a few bits of rust but I think that's pretty standard for the age. The previous owner is my partners cousin so we know he's been looked after - he was their only vehicle for almost a decade.

    Earlybay Campout 2019

Just discovered this - we're fairly local to Banbury so date dependant would be keen to join!

    Freddie

As promised - a few pics of Freddie, our '68 van. Realising we don't have that many photos! Will be starting to do some bits and pieces on him in the coming weeks. Have no working side lights & only one tail light, so need to investigate if that's a simple bulb change or something else...
