    Inaccessible Battery Terminals?

Sorry Mate, I've not been on the computer for a while, hence the delay in responding. My terminals are on the back side of the battery next to the bodywork with the POS terminal towards the front of the van, Neg next to the rear light fitting, but even with a battery with terminals on the side...

    Inaccessible Battery Terminals?

If you're lucky, very rarely. But if I have a battery problem on the road, I'd rather not be squatting down trying to find the battery terminal whilst waiting for a car to rear-end me. Also, I'm not that mobile and anything that makes it easier to jump-start or attach my charger is fine with...

    Inaccessible Battery Terminals?

Hi Sparkywig, Can't say I've ever seen that type of battery in the UK. But' that's not a bad idea if you can get them.

    Inaccessible Battery Terminals?

We've all moaned about the difficulty in accessing the battery terminals on our Type 2s. I got so fed up trying to get my head and arms into the engine compartment and at the same time reach the battery posts, that I finally decided to do something about it. The solution is very simple and...

Yes, I would have looked you up if I'd made it. I'm still suffering but feel much better than I did—just a matter of time I suppose. Regards, Grant

Parts For Sale Wheel,Tyres and Porche Tombstone seats for sale

Hi Folks, The Dreaded Lergie struck a couple of days before the Slough Swapmeet resulting in three weeks on penicillin. I'm now mostly recovered but still have the wheels, seats, and a few other bits and pieces including a brand new rev counter, that unfortunately does not fit the VW facia. I...

    The best awnings ?

I could not agree more. I've had one for 6 years and it's still like new. I tried an Olpro airbeam at Odiham and it was its second use. One beam would not inflate and we spent the weekend without an awning. At Busfest the old and trusty Khyam came out again and served us well. The airbeam awning...

Parts For Sale Wheel,Tyres and Porche Tombstone seats for sale

Hi, I have no answers to question 1. My son bought the seats to put in a car he was converting and passed them down to me when he bought my Toyota Granvia camper. The seats appear to have electrical adjustment. No, they have never been installed in a Type 2. I was going to put them in my early...

Parts For Sale Wheel,Tyres and Porche Tombstone seats for sale

Yep I'll be there. But I'll not have room for the wheels. Here's pics of the spare wheel and one of the alloys, showing the pattern. Hope to see you there.🙂🙂 Granite

The wheels are off my Van. I put some alloys on. The size is shown on one of the tyres. I'm not sure how old they are but there is no sign of deterioration. Apparently, the age is shown somewhere on the tyre. I don't know where.

Parts For Sale Wheel,Tyres and Porche Tombstone seats for sale

I've got a. table booked at the Slough Swapmeet but I have some parts for sale that I won't have room to bring in the van. I have four steel wheels complete with good tyres with 6mm tread. £300 I also have a pair of Porche tombstone seats in black. Good quality, no rips or wear. I'm not sure if...

    Buddy 1970 Early Bay

Hi, Thanks for the feedback. I've just seen your rebuild pics. Awesome! Obviously, a labour of love, makes my efforts insignificant in comparison. I was interested to see your comments regarding the reversing light. That's a future job I'm planning to do. It would be great to know what problems...

    Buddy 1970 Early Bay

Buddy is my third Bay. I previously owned a 1969 Bay then a 1977 Westy. Buddy was purchased on Auction from Mathewson's, Thornton Le Dale. I was not able to get up to Yorkshire so I bid online. I was told by Mathewson's that the steering needed sorting out so I had the van brought down to...

Whatever happened to my 1969 Earl Bay?

HI James, I expect you're right, but Buddy was in good condition when I sold her. The bus was obviously kept running for a while as proved by the colour change. Orange, that's strange because the Westphalia I bought to replace Buddy was orange. Granite

Whatever happened to my 1969 Earl Bay?

I'd love to know if Buddy is still around. I bought a 1979 2litre Westphalia when I sold Buddy. But, never had so much enjoyment from it as I did with the early bay. Nothing had power steering in those days, so the heavy steering on Buddy was not a factor and the brakes were heavy but adequate...
