    68 lowering options

You can’t change beam to a later one in a 68 as it was a one year only beam and the holes don’t line up. I’m changing to dropped spindles and 72+ late model brakes, Downside is with late model brake the stock lowlight rims won’t fit so you need different wheels

    Change of spindles/Brakes on a 71

early and late spindles are a straight swap i think the only make is EMPI ? fit late bay brakes for ease of finding parts and the availability of replacing things such as rotors and pads (but its completely a personal choice) most parts stores should sell 73+ disc brake components

Boosted/Servo install in 1968 RHD Lowlight

i have just had a look.. however because mine is a 68 or T2a it means the pedals are in a different location making it more complicated to install so rather than make a bracket for the brake pedal i opted for the remote brake booster.. i will attempt to install it in December when im back near...

Boosted/Servo install in 1968 RHD Lowlight

Seems like fitting a late model unit to the beam is going to involve more work by needing to make cross linkages since mines a RHD 68, so I think I’ll go down the remote path.. although late model boosters are far cheaper

    New Brake set up

Boosted/Servo install in 1968 RHD Lowlight

So dual servos are good and all.. but what’s wrong with a normal remote servo with a t splitter and a bias valve installed (for disc/drum combos) would that not work just as well? The benefit is that’s way cheaper and MUCH easier to source parts for.. the dual servos are like £265 in freight...
