Thinking further I'm wondering if, in the back of the bush tube, there is not a build up of old hardened grease that is preventing...

    I've also dug out my new plastic and did some comparison measurements. The width of the pin hole on the Delrin is 10mm while the width of the white plastic is 12mm. The flange end that goes into the shift rod on the Delrin is 6mm while on the white plastic it is 4mm.

    It'll be a while before I'm ready to install mine but I have been wondering about this. Would it help to soak it in hot water, let it loosen up and be more flexible?
