    Replacing interior Laminate

Hi, I've never redone a camper interior, but re-done loads of formica in the past. The best way I've found for removing the old laminate is to work your way across with an old iron to heat up the glue and a scraper or big old chisel to scrape it off ( a word of warning though leaving the heat in...

    removing paint off vinyl/rubber etc..

Thanks for your help, I've tried both of your ideas before, but it seems to be stuck like s*** to a blanket and very hard to shift, not to worry I'll keep at it with the old elbow grease.. cheers

    removing paint off vinyl/rubber etc..

Hello all, I wonder if anyone has got any top tips for removing paint from vinyl (the padded trim bits around the back of the front seat bulkhead type bits). I think the paint in question could be undercoat or etch primer, just to make it harder to shift. I need something strong enough to remove...

Cleaning , de-rusting and eventually painting the underside

A wire cup type brush that fits into a grinder (brass wire type from Machinemart) works a treat on rust and thin layers of paint and ones that you can get to fit in a drill for hard to reach corners, but you'll get through a few of both of them and it is very boring, but strangely satisfying...

Replacing Top Hat Sections and other supports

I'm hoping this is the right thing to do, I've just drilled well over 300 spot welds out as the floor itself is solid and yet the top hat section just next to the front wheel arch needs replacing. It is mind numbingly boring drilling them out, but I just kept thinking how solid the bus will be...

To belly pan or not to belly pan?

I like the bolt on idea..definately worth looking at..Mine looked solid from underneath with paint still on them (when the underdseal was scraped off) and the floor in the loading bay looked solid. All in all I thought the chassis would be sound until I started poking holes with a screwdriver...

To belly pan or not to belly pan?

Exactly.. I'm all for original but they just seem a waste of time, especially when some have them fitted and others like the 68 and the 72 on your site haven't, which leads me to believe they're not needed for strength..Anyway thanks for your view on it..I'll go and do a bit more chin scratching...

To belly pan or not to belly pan?

Hi, I'm currently restoring a '72 crossover bay with tin top. I know this question has been asked before but do I need to replace the belly pans to keep the strength, or do they only need to give extra strength if the roof is cut out. It seems to me it's six of one and half a dozen of the other...
