LHD California Import – 1969 Deluxe Microbus, Walkthrough, Tin-Top
This is the one of the first ‘Early Bay’ ‘Deluxe’ microbus models.
On the outside she looks battered and bruised and shows all of her 44 years of history however the chassis is very solid and needs no welding or repairs.
The majority of the original ‘Deluxe’ interior is there, dusty and tired but there!
This would make a fantastic ‘Ratty’ or a great ‘Base Project’ for restoration.
Currently this bus is being sold as a ‘Base Project’ it comes with an untested engine and transmission.
Price = £3500.00*
A tested and newly serviced Type 2 1500cc or newly build 1641cc Type 2 motor can be installed at an extra cost (subject to negotiation) so please feel free to call us on +44 1752 426292 to discuss your requirements further.
Additionally the vehicle can also be supplied with an MoT and registered at an additional cost (subject to negotiation).
Or why not used this as a basis for a renovation project that we manage, choosing you vehicles colour scheme, interior layout and mechanical modifications or enhancements. Please see our ‘Projects’ section for further details.
Outside
• This bus has been over-sprayed at some time (it has a nice faded patina) apart from lots of dents there is minimal rust and the chassis is in excellent condition.
• The nose is dented but is good and solid
• Passenger door is solid inside and out
• Drivers door is solid inside and out
• The long panel is super straight and in excellent condition
• Left rear corner is good, apron is good, engine deck-lid is dented
• Right rear corner is dented and has been repaired and filled at sometime
• Sliding door is very good and works fine
• Rear bumper has dents in it
Inside
• Both the Cab and Cargo floors have some surface rust damage, however both are both very solid
• The front walkthrough seats are original but could do with being recovered
• The original rear passenger microbus seat is present
Mechanics
• The brakes are working but will need an overhaul
• The engine is untested
• The gearbox is present but untested
The roof
• The roof is solid with no holes or major dents in it
