Thought I'd finally start a gallery / documentation of my ongoing van ownership, rolling restoration and bank account draining [SMILING FACE WITH OPEN MOUTH] as have been lurking on here for a fair while.

Having always yearned to own a camper from very young having grown up in Cornwall. Eventually managed to get enough money together to purchase one a couple of years ago albeit needing 'a bit of work' given my budget. Quite a bit of work to do given its a rhd and bodywork had lots of filler. But chassis is solid so a good base.

So to cut a long story short
Has been a fair amount of work to even get to this stage, lots my own and lots by garages as don't have my own garage to do the more heavy metal work etc. Plus lots of people calling me crazy.

To date major bits I have done
Renewed all brakes still drums want to move to discs at some point.
New clutch (decided to give out on the morning of wanting to leave to take it to its first volksworld show)
Changed Dynamo for alternator
Leaky old solex changed for weber 34icts with bell crank linkage
New vintagespeed
New front arches, lower front panel, cab floor
Porsche 944 tombstones fitted in place of badly fitted old Saab ones.
Volkswares bed fitted as unfortunately not much of nice old Devon interior left.
Firetec fitted
Loom currently being replaced (more on that later)

But has all been good fun and happy in the knowledge that all those things have been done and properly[SMILING FACE WITH OPEN MOUTH]. Still a work in progress as will never be finished but slowly getting there plus very usable/ a lot less chicken wire and filler/ expanding foam [FLUSHED FACE]. Will stop waffling on now and post some all important photos [SMILING FACE WITH OPEN MOUTH AND SMILING EYES].

In sort of order
As I picked up

Nice one mate :)
Don't get discouraged, do a thing at the time and when you get frustrated with something, leave it for another day
It always works for me ;)
Keep up the good work

Sneak look at some welding work having done. More and more surprised at the lack of rust under the bad paint job think the 7layers of paint have been protecting it for years :D

Keeping top of roof black for now as want to replace canvas properly in Devon pop top etc but stretched funds about as far as can in terms of workshop work. Also hopefully something I should be able to manage myself.

Finally got hands on some Devon cupboards :D.

Amazing what a bit of cleaning and some danish wood oil will do.

Mad? Maybe. :D

But what a cracking job you are doing. Looking forward to seeing your bus in the flesh sometime.
