Hi guys, thought you might be interested in seeing a 72 RHD Westy that came to us for a bit of metalwork and exterior repaint. Its a pretty solid bus from South Africa but needed a windscreen aperture repair:
Few repairs around the bus such as the sliding door:
Battery tray was rotten as well as the tub and box section on the RHS. Made a small repair for the box section as factory, and fitted a new battery tray. Here it is mocked up but cant find a picture of it welded in:
Once all the metalwork was finished we took most the the bus back to bare metal and skimmed the sizes before epoxy & 2k high build prime... Then days more blocking down before paint:
Painted the engine bay first:
Got it in the booth and painted the outside and door shuts:
Really pleased how it looks after being flat and polished:
Almost finished ready for collection:
Doing this one has made me want to do the same to my own.
