Absolutely perfect runner. No unwelcome noises AT ALL. Shifts perfect, doesn't drop out of any gears and it doesn't leak oil. Oil was replaced 3 months ago when I put it in my bay. Selling it as I've sold the bay and buyer has opted for 1600 engine and matching box.

These CP boxes are getting hard to find now - especially one with a cast iron guarantee that it works. THIS GEARBOX HAS NO FAULTS WHATSOEVER. FULL REFUND IF YOU FIND DIFFERENT - BUT YOU WON'T. Not to be confused with the DK code box which needs modification to fit, this will bolt straight onto a type one engine.

£400, buyer collects from Ipswich. No offers please as If it doesn't fetch this price I'll just hang on to it until the next bay inevitably turns up.

Will post a pic when I get it out of bay - but basically it looks like a cp code 6 rib gearbox.

bugger  i sold one of those badboys for £200 6 months ago when i bought nellys old box. me thinks i sold too cheep as the guy informs me it is fantastic now its fitted.

what mods are required to fit to a 1600 engine? would it give better top end crusing, ie lower revs?

Also heard about fitting the 1303 box? which one would be best to future proof for when I fit the 911 engine?

uber cool - not much good for a 1600 really, just not enough oomph in a 1600 to push a 2 litre gearbox, or a bug gearbox for that matter. You'll find you're forever changing down and having to get the revs up. Best gearbox for a bay 1600 is the 1600 bay gearbox! (CA code).
For future 911 engine usage this box would be good, whether its a straight bolt-on is anyone's guess though. The 6-rib gearbox is the strongest aircooled transmission VW ever made. Often sought after by the drag-strip brigade - but not in this instance it would seem!

Darren - suggest you succumb to temptation! Perfect partner for a 1745 this...

seriously tempted - if I was working it would be mine lol, being a bit skinto has thwarted that but it would go with my 1745 [*maybe my 1955*]

would you do a deal on my short blocks/cases and cash ur way?

~edit~ peeps this is better than I have got which is one of these

for less than half the cash ...this is going to be one of those GRRRR wish I had bought it items

I'm hoping to run a bigger engine at some stage and the original box takes some skill to get into 3rd without the crunch.
Right, I've talked myself into going for it if noone else has first dibs...

PM on it's way... :party0021:
