HI,
Ok i know this has been covered before, but iv searched all over read loads of posts about 34 ict carbs, but all i can find is set ups for 1600 engine,
iv got 34 ict carbs on a EA 1700 type 4 air cooled 411/412 914 engine with the domed pistons,
out the box jets are
Mains 145
Air correction 160
Idle 55
emulsion tubes F78
Pump inlet valve 40
anyone running 34 s on 1700/1800 motor and what size jets should i change to from what i can gather i need to up idle jet but to what size ? and change emulsion tube to F6
tick over screw is 2 turns in from stop mixture is 2 1/2 turns out but engine smooths out better at 3 turns out but plugs are way off and i have a hesitation on acceleration and not very good top end power,
the engine has just been rebuilt over winter and has electronic vac dizzy every thing is set spot on timing valves ect,
carbs are balanced / synchronized linkages are spot on, got right fuel pump.

any ideas cheers westy1

Have you spoken to eurocarb? They should be able to give you a ball park.

I've got a 57 idle and 150 main fitted on my 1600.

So at a guess I think your talking min 60 idle, and a similar or slightly larger main, mine is a bit rich at 150.

I didn't find eurocarb overly helpful as they say they would send jetted for a 1641 but they didn't even change the emulsions. Following a session on a rolling road I ended up with the following for a 1641:

145 Main (previously 140)
F6 Emulsion
185 Air Correction (previously 165)
57 Idles (previously 55)

The displacement on a 1700 is 1679 so its not a lot bigger and probably a good starter. As its a type 4 you might get more people with first hand experience over on the late bay

Euro carb were supposed to jet them for my engine but didn't, they just talk crap,
I've read loads about 1600 but none about 1700/18/2000 there must be some one running them, thanks for the replies
