Not been posting for a while but now have pics worth sharing. I’ve had the current van for eleven years now and it got to the time when some welding was needed. We moved to just north of Whitby five years ago and luckily found a reputable place run by VW people, Resto Restorations. They have now finished the welding and awaiting the call from the paint shop. The very dodgy headliner will be done later too. Anyway, here is the bus sat waiting its turn. Then the bus as some might remember it when bought, blinged up a bit and finally the much-missed Crossover restored by Chris Slammedkustom and pinched & never seen again.

Nice one Mike - although once you start uncovering the life that the bus has had before you it can become daunting (an sometimes more ££) - but hang in there, it'll be worth it. 67/68 Titian reds rule!!!

As standard yes, you could also have a deluxe with a black roof until 1970 MY.

White works for me, keeping it very much ‘as is’.

Popped in today to drop off the replacement door card and the van is sat ready for the call to the paint guys. Not that much grey for a 67 bus, apparently one of the most solid they have worked on.

Question for you Mike. Do you have a painted dash? If so, you might want to get that painted too - in case it doesn't match the new Titian red paint. If not, you'll be staring at it every time you drive the bus and saying to yourself

Good point. It’s been removed and was black when I got the van. I had been wondering about chroming the vent surrounds more than painting but will ask about both after Christmas. Ta!

The door card is perfect too, the sticker being where it can be seen not behind the cooker.
