Is this normal ????

If I lock the door, take out the key and then put back in it re-opens when turned.
However, if i do the same but push the button in it won't open. I then have to use the sliding door to pop open the door pull.

Is this correct, or do i need to look at the locks.

Your feedback is appreciated.

Thanks

Mike

Mine does the same on drivers side only. If I keep at it, lock, unlock, lock, unlock, it eventually opens.

Was told there is a small spring somewhere inside the lock mechanism that might need replacing, but yet to take it all apart and have a look.

(Mines a '70 though)

My 68 westy did the same thing on the driver door the last 15 years I have owned it. 2 years ago I stripped it down and did complete restoration from top to bottom and after soaking the locks and oiling them the driver door no longer has that problem. Remove the lock and soak in marvel mystery oil for a week.
