Absolute muppet question.... Removing front badge

Is there a knack to removing the front badge without bending or scratching either the badge or the bodywork? With a pull by hand it seems mighty tight!

The badge on my 1970 just pulls off, 4 pins go into plastic sleeves in the body. The first time I took it off it required a little perswading with a screwdriver, I put some card between the body and the blade on the driver.
