550 - 'little bastard' - the 4th most popular source of internet conspiracy theories, behind the moon landings, 9/11, and whether or not i'm actually building a lowered bus, or just talking about it on various vw forums

september 30th is not a good day for me :|

We went very close to the spot where it happened, apparently there is a memorial there. I didnt bother detouring to actually see it, was late getting to the Pinnacles ...... happy days. 8)

I see the 2 litre rims..did your 914 run a 2 litre engine?
It was a nice Porsche! :? :(

i new a giy once that had a 356 engine sat inhis workshop, i dont think he ever fitted it back in a car!

how cool would it be to have a 356 engine in your bus!!

a few 356 engine have appeared on ebay in the past. one was in a buggy and was on there for ages. they were only a 1600cc so i cant imagine theyd romp. 80's porsche lumps are awsome. like nelly's 3.0l. ive lost count of how many blokes come up to you and say. "a porsche engine fits straight in those" when talking about busses. im sure they are not the hardest things to fit, but fitting them well is another story. getting the balance of breaking etc. ive seen a few seriously underbraked scooby buses in the last few years that i wouldnt touch with a bargepole

Had a 1700 engine with its original bosch d-jet injection. When looking for that car I was hunting for a complete, unmolested, solid example. Those wheels do look good though, don't they. 8)

Froggy........If you are interested in the aircooled Porsches I would thoroughly recommend going over and having a look at DDK's forum

http://www.ddk-online.com

Lovely bunch of peeps there, and possibly the best source for aircooled porsche info.

:)
