Thinking of ordering this magazine from the states, saw it advertised on the samba
http://www.aircooledtechnology.com/store/product.php?productid=16954&cat=0&page=1
Have been in contact with the publishers / Jake Raby on the samba and have recieved this reply
All overseas orders are being shipped via USPS Priority mail at $13.95 flat rate. Up to 4 magazines will fit in the flat rate envelope at this price. I have had zero issues shipping this way. I can't say the same for the cheaper first class mailings...
The magazine is $9.99 so with the packing its $23.94  but if 3 other people fancy ordering it aswell then it comes down to $13.49 each (not including UK postage)
Anyone else interested?

 remember the Tax threshold for imports is £18/$27......so if caught add 20%......RM charge £8 for clearing customs and delaying your package on top

Just so you know, the stated price of flat rate shipping does not include insurance and the shipping charge will be added to your order when it is processed.
Regards,
Rebecca
Looking at 4 x $9.99 + $13.95 (US postage) + insurance (Guess at $10) + (VAT@20%?+ handling $13), roughly $93 all in ($23 each or £14.50 + UK postage)
Would anyone pay nearly £15 (worst case scenario) for a magazine  :?
Think i'm going to order me a copy anyway so if anyone else is intersted PM me
(I'm going away next week for half term so no real rush)

Am I right in thinking this only relates to the type 4 engine and not the type 1?
In 2006 Hot VWs Technical Editor, Dean Kirsten traveled to the Aircooled Technology Compound to witness what it takes to create true 170HP MassIVe type 4 Power, the Raby way. While Dean spent his week here at Aircooled Heaven he was exposed to many of the tricks associated with the creation of a reliable, high performance daily driver engine and included these in a 6 part article in Hot VWs Magazine that was printed throughout 2006. This engine would go on to making RAT history as it was used in a 3,450 mile R&D cross country excursion. As always, RAT took it over the top with testing for an un-paralleled adventure proving the DTM cooling system’s ability in adverse conditions and laid the ground work for our “Snake Oil” product, with a grand finale of a 94MPH pass at Sacramento California’s Bug-O-Rama in exactly the same trim as it was driven flawlessly across country with, weighing in at 2400 pounds with Pilot!.
Fast forward to today and that entire article series to include the cross country trip has been updated and compiled into a 16 page inclusion into the Hot VWs publication “All about VW Performance Engines #3, which is the only Type 4 Engine based article featured in the entire book!
.
Other articles that are covered in the publication include:
-Blueprinting Basics
-1600 stock rebuild
- 1776 Daily Driver
-2500 Pro Stock
-2333 NITROUS
1914 Turbo

It does cover t4 motors but i'm intersted in the 1776 daily driver, the 1914 turbo (if only for the turbo ideas) and the blueprinting basics.
Dont know of a UK magazine that covers all of these items (maybe someone else knows? maybe a european version?)
