Start bus and drive, distance of no consequence.
Stop the bus with the front facing down hill or on the level..........No problems
Stop the bus with the front facing up hill and will not fire but will turn over............
Seems to me like it is flooding ... any way of fixing this please.

as above, could be an issue with the float chamber in the carb.

Second that, and check your float and measure it properly, and check it`s not holed, also have a look at your needle and seat. While you`re pissing about, just replace them but check them first by trying to blow through first to check.

Ozziedog,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, See you at Bristol or AC 15 ????

Yeah I remember now, I had this problem and I bought a rebuild kit. Changed the needle and other bits and soaked the carb in WD 40 before cleaning it out.
Been ok since!

Check the needle valve. You may need a new one. Also check that a previous owner has not omitted the washer between the needle valve and the carb top.

I've had early and late bays with type 1 and type 4 engines and they have all done the same, park facing down a slope and they start on the button, facing up and if takes a fair few seconds. I reckon it's just a bus thing, all mine have done it, as long as it starts I wouldn't lose sleep. As sparkywig says, park facing downhill if you're worried.
