Anyone else got these things riveted to the roof?

These little aluminium rests were riveted to Doris's roof, I assume to stop the pop top rubbing on the paintwork.

There was 3 of them riveted on the opposite side to the hinges of the pop top.when the roof was down then it used to rest on them, did Dormobile fit them or the PO? Anyone else got them?

Looks like an aftermarket modification. ;)

Neither of the Dormobiles I've owned have had these fitted.

Agreed.

There was a problem with the finishing strip originally used by Dormobile in that it would rub through the paintwork over time. Many owners glued some plastic strips to the vans roof for the pop top to rest on.

The modern sealing strip you can get now have a nice soft bungy rubber bit which means you dont have the abrasion problem any more.

Thanks chaps, that answers my question, PO has fitted them then.

I have used that spongy edged trim like you mentioned Trikky, hopefully I won't have that rub through again that caused all the rot originally.

They are probably for an awning mate, ding them and forget them ;)

On a similar note, I have two round hoops bolted through the rear of my roof, absolutely no idea what they are for! They seem pretty heavy duty...any ideas?
