Anyone from winchester?

I've got 3-4 months work in winchester coming up and need to find cheap digs to stay in, im currently staying in an absolute **** tip of a pub/b&b which is a joke of a place, showers don't work, toilets are usually blocked, breakfast is stale bread or ***** cereal,beds are tiny and deadly, beer is mank, the locals are inbred, the bed bugs are like Staffordshire bull terriers!! I could go on. :character0051: :ghoul: :ghoul: :confused0068:

Does anyone know of anywhere that's fairly cheap and clean worth trying? I'd be better off in jail!!! :shock:

Wow, that doesn't sound like fun, whereabouts are you staying? (And there is a jail in Winchester, but think that is full at the mo )

Winchester is not a cheap place unfortunately, and any of the pub/b&b's I know would be £50+ per night I guess, but surely your company will pay won't they ? I can only google search as you can, but if you want any info on specific areas or want me to check a place out for you let me know.

By the way, have you tried websites like airbnb, spareroom, mondaytofriday etc? These are just private people renting out a spare room, might be suitable if you just need Mon-Fri accommodation.

I'm staying a pub called the first in last out, apparently it was on the hotel inspector (I think she needs a new job!)

I'm trying to get my company to pay for something better but unfortunately it has an impact on my wages. (Complicated pay structure)

I nearly mentioned that name, First In Last Out, but thought I'd wait for the answer. Yep, driven and walked past that many a time, and never knew how that stayed open. Not a pleasant looking establishment.

I could recommend the King Alfred in Hyde, but I'm sure it will be a lot more than the FILO. If your company will pay, I'm sure you will find it much more pleasant, and I'll join you in there for a pint sometime.
