Isn't the firetech supposed to stop the engine which in turn stops fuel pumping out? Granted this won't stop the fire on its own, I presume the gas will then suffocate the fire?
Stops the pump working but the fuel is under the head of pressure from the tank so would continue to flow from a open pipe.

I've fitted the FireBoy system from VW Aircooled Werks, including the tank shut off solenoid & forget pipes......

Having had an engine fire in a Beetle many years ago I wanted to cover all potential risks....
