Well I am doing it for me. But just thought I'd gauge reaction. I have about another 8" above the roof to clear the garage door. Still not sure. However my mate has some off road tyres so might put these on the spare rims and try on the front this week. I've got coil overs so with these removed might get enough clearance to mock it up. Think it would need raised spindles or the beam lowered in the chassis and the rear down 2 splines from standard. I'll try it and see. I'll post some photo after I've done it. If it look ***** I'll put it down as one of those bad ideas I sometime have.

Green = coolio 8) 8) 8) Blue = poo eeeh
Your bus ,, your rules,, pay no attention whatsoever to what we say, I`d personally kinda like the high rise / off road type thing as I like to be different mostly. Got a bit of an issue with re building my garage a little higher though, bus is lowered a bit just to get him in now  If you want to go strictly bananas,,, try high rise, scooby, and 4 wheel drive,,

Ozziedog,,,,,,,THAT I`d like to see   8)

oh yes! Did I ever tell you guys about my ex 72 westy? Think I did

Miss it so much i'm having another 72 shipped from cali, sierra yellow this time! Same treatment planned..

One High, one low, it's the way to go! ;)

Roland - loving your old red westy. What tyres and suspension mods did it have?

Roland your van looks great. Saw it a while ago on the forum and gave me the idea.

For me I think the idea is dead as I won't be able to get it high enough to achieve the look I want and still clear the garage door. Anything less and it will just look standard with slightly larger tyres.

Also I think I'm from the era of most cars look better lower to the ground.

Maybe I should baja the wife's beetle instead!

the red westy is awesome, need to move to the country then I could do that to mine

r73 - get the feeling you might be trading in your dropped spindles :D

I am certainly thinking about it!

Well today i have been mostly de-red 9'in my van back to stock height and gonna put some chunky tires on from the link on the arctic explorer thread ;)
It clears the garage by a gnats scroat too

Go for it :D I plan to fit the crewcab with offroad tyres for a spot of green laning, before the lure of the tarmac means I'll be knocking cats eyes out with the antiroll bar
