Ball joints ..

Im just gonna take my trailing arms to have new ball joints pressed ..

and just noticed that on the upper arms the cone shaped insert is stuck onto the ball joint shaft whilst on the lower arms it has stayed in the spindles ..

.. a few wacks won't get it off ..

The upper and lower ball joints are the same aren't they? .. and that insert should come off and go back into the spindle right?

Yes it does come off & is needed for the replacement ball joints.
There isnt one on the lower ball joints, only on the upper ones.

That's to adjust your camber and you need to hang on to it, try some magical Plusgas or a puller.
