everyone will tell you its illegal but apparently its not! This info was published in Practical classics mag about 2 months ago so maybe go on their forum and have an ask. It was for a bloke whos sticking a V8 in a Merc (hes one of the staff)

Its only illegal if you get your MIG welder out and fashion some rims from old tin cans......or get some back street garage to knock you up something.

it is legal is you get a suitably qualified (apparently theres a grading system or something) and experienced welder to do the work for you using proper rim extensions - its done a lot for lorries apparently so theres infinate widths and sizes available. From what I rememebr it was pretty cheap too!
