Aah! I see. Well you could sell it I suppose. Only a suggestion it's your choice entirely. :)

I realise these diesel heaters are very much less money than the webasto petrol heater, but I'm glad I had mine fitted before the cheap ones were available.

The interior work continues…
Headlining done, lights all in
Few other bits of wiring done for 3rd brake light, rear heated screen etc
All the crappy black tint removed from all the windows.
Blinds to go in next and finishing touches around the pop top trim 😁

So excited to see it again when I collect it!!!!

Looks great, excellent work. Just been reading your thread from the beginning got me thinking if I should look into getting a new wiring loom while it’s stripped down. 🤔

Thanks, it’s been quite the journey so far!!
Re: a loom - I would say absolutely do it.

. I didn’t think it was that expensive.
. It was straightforward to fit yourself.
. Gives huge peace of mind for the future.
. You can customise it to include all the things you have now and might want in the future.

hi - I have a 72 Dormy and have been looking for rear headlining replacement material for ages. What did you use and where did you get it from?

I went for perforated as I thought that would realistically be easier to hide any marks the family leave on it!
All of the recent interior trimming has been done by Bromsgrove Trim Shop.
Lovely guys who do amazing work and they know classic VWs inside out.

I’d get in touch with them as a starting point 👍

Looks brilliant 👍
Thanks Matty - I’m so happy with it!
It’s been my vision for the bus since I bought it two years ago. Metalwork is solid. Runs and drives great. And finally the interior is a lovely, watertight!, place to be.

Need to finish off the heater install now and I’ve been making progress on that 👍

Looking super!
Those lights you have, do you know how they fitted them? I assume they made a bracket of some sort. That was in our plan years ago (still haven't got a headlining, that is however next on the list). I had sort of given up on the idea and was just going to cheat and get strip lights.

Hey Ben, If you haven’t already, have a test run with your heater before you finalise everything, they make a right racket when running.

Thank you!
The lights are in a panel. The panel is held in place with rivets which have been colour coded painted so you can hardly see them.
I’ll try and get a better pic for you 👍

@Whistler
Here are some pics which hopefully show the panels a bit better.
The side ones are rigid all along the side of the bus.
The rear one is a solid panel for the first 150mm then the headliner fabric as you would expect.

It’s done really cleverly so you don’t noticed the solid panels very much - it all blends in!
