In to 2022!
Gone through all the brakes and new steering box finally fitted 👍

Test drove the bus this afternoon, the steering is nice and tight and a pleasure to drive, the brakes have a nice firm pedal with very little free travel, they stop when pressed and lock up when hit hard.

Keeping the jobs list moving forward!

Just caught up with your thread and mightily impressed with what you have done :)

That’s kind of you!
Really enjoying working on the bus. And I’m actually missing it at the moment (not that I have any time to work on it!) as it’s away getting some metalwork done.
Will be worth it soon enough!!

took out the upper cabinet for the metal work, so it's a good chance to fix it up a bit. Few bits missing, which I'll replace, and I'll re-glue the loose bits.
I'm slightly contemplating making a copy in oak, to match the rest of the interior stuff I've put in already (but there's something about the original one that's growing on me!)

slow progress at the garage as they are also working on other cars as well as my Bus.
It's looking as expected so far 😁
Aiming to get it done by the end of the month...

What's the upright pipe thing? breather from the engine bay?

Hi Ben,

Nice bus mate. Is the indicator the original as I’m looking for a replacement for my 68 early bay but have read the pattern parts are not good quality.

Cheers,

Tony

Thanks Tony!
The indicators are some of the few parts I haven’t replaced so far, and any chrome finish on the front lenses has worn off so I think they have been there a long time.

While the bus is away I’ve been picking off a few other jobs.
A 14” spare to match my rear 15” wheels - radius within 10mm was the best I could do!

Then finally got all the pop top brackets apart, cleaned up, Powder coated and reassembled with all new SS hardware.
