got a project '71 DC i am hopefully going to start on soon (had it a year!!) and wondered who does the best panels as in inner sills, jacking points etc. Always used to think that Schofield stuff was the best but i have had some bits off them that weren't a great fit in the past and i know looking on here at the resto's other people have found the same, and other manufactures that the part is probably for a washing machine instead of a VW. Managed to get quite a few NOS panels which is a bonus, but i think inner sills and jacking points etc will have to be after market. I was going to get some of the 'correct fit' parts off custom and commercial but i even see that in some cases they dont fit too well. Having said i would never do another complete resto, i find myself doing one,(damn these VW's) i want good quality parts that fit and not **** i have to piss about with for ages making it fit.......
SO who has done a resto recently or is doing one now and can recommend some good products, sort of things i will be after are:

LHS front wheel arch pref NOS
I beam things underneath
jacking points and outriggers
inner sills and prob middle strengtheners
rear cab floor (maybe need to clean it up first, definatly rusty at edges)
poss LHS complete front wheel tub (that seat sits on)
poss inner front valance but need to clean that up first to see how bad it is
LHS rear tray (not battery tray but other side)
if anyone has nos stuff or good quality aftermarket parts they dont need and want to sell please pm me bearing in mind some parts will need to be truck specific

cheers nick

Autocraft for inner sills ( though not sure if DC sills are the same?), outriggers, jacking points and I think that they are going to do I beams soon?

NOS LHS front wheel arch - I spent 5 years looking for one with no joy, got a NOS RHS but ended up settling for a really good OG cut for the left. Klassicfab do repros which are supposed to be good, if you can get them. Evam Classic in Holland sometimes have them, rumours that there will be a new UK agent for KF soon (Alan Schofield I heard) but not sure if KF will improve supply rates. MCJ have some cuts just in but I think they are pricey (300 + notes) but they are hard to get now, I guess.

There was a NOS LH platform tray for a DC at Sweetcorn, don't know if it sold or not, I was talking to a guy who was thinking of buying it for his DC resto ( maybe that was you?!)

Middle sills - if not DC specific, Jeffrey at BusOk.NL had a pair of NOS ones recently.

Inner front valance - I've been looking for a nos one for years, looks like I will be patching up mine as its not as bad as I though. I did get the middle section NOS from Schofields a while back, they had a few - might be worth an ask!

Hope this helps, good luck with your searching

cheers Andy... wasn't me you were talking to at sweetcorn but that nos battery tray sits in my garage 8) , now after the other side (drivers side on LHD), got an nos r/h side front arch off Jeffrey will email him to see what other bits he has, will also speak to autocraft as they seem highly rated. arch cuts at £300 way too expensive nos cheaper, cuts seem as hard to find as nos at the moment!!
