just not using the old girl as much as i used to. now we have a little one we seem to spend all the time in the awning just taking the bus as a double bed.dont seem to make it to the shows either.i used to use it all the time for nipping to shops,in to town and such but just dont anymore.ive had the bus about 8 years and thought i would never sell it,

i was wondering what people think is a good time to sell?

im obviously wanting as much as i can get for her.should i sell now at the end of summer or do you thing next spring would be a better time to sell?

has anyone actually got good money for there bus on ebay?

prices seem all over the place on there at the mo and none of them seem to sell

Went through the same thing a couple of weeks ago, don't thinks theres ever a right time (or place) to sell but i would try and get along to one of the last few shows of the year and put a for sale sign in the window. Maybe offer the van with the awning as a complete deal then you can negoiate backwards (no awning then £££ of the price etc - also then gives you the awning to sell afterwards to make some of the £££ back).
Not even sure where the best place to sell is as Ebay is full of idiots that bid for fun with no intention of completing but then again nowhere gets the coverage of ebay. :?
Maybe VZi or the Samba? Pistonheads?

We 'lock' an awful lot of For Sale ads on here, many recently, so vans are selling. Im not sure theres a right time anymore, if its up and running and good to go, then anytime now till end September could get you a buyer, then till spring it may be slower as the project market takes over? perhaps?
Get it advertised and see.
Here, thesamba,VZi and eBay depending on your POV. Ive bought and sold vehicles via eBay with never a real problem.
Thinik carefully though ... in another year or so you may be gagging for a camper to take youre nipper away in! ;)

Right now is plum for "if we don't get one now another summer will have gone by" types. I'd say past Aug bank holiday things slow for campers.
The best time to buy one is in the week before christmas when nobody else is bidding. I'm not bidding then either - how many bargains I've missed though!

Dont do it matey, my laddo is 3 n a bit and is bursting to get away in the bus.

If u sell it, you can get another,,,,, but it wont be the 8 year love affair you gave away ;)

any time now is surely guna be good. weather still good, nights still light. great bus ready to hit the road.

i too feel the same way about shows etc. four kids, my golf does 2000 miles a year at a push, bus aint even got on the road yet  if it doesnt owe you anything, keep it. moth ball it, make it perfect for when you have more time. sat money gets spent, and these buses are now like houses, well kept it aint guna lose you anything other than garage space.

:D

ye i wasent sure if it were a bit late in the year to be selling.i wonderd if there would be more potential buyers about in spring

part of wants to keep it, but for my sins im thinking of an old man motorhome and part of the funds would be coming from the bus.

trade up for a karman gypsy. all the old man motorhome you could require but still tres cool ;)

and with that added unreliability you just dont get with those spiritless modern ones :D

i do get where you're coming from though. my cuz has a transit based hymer some old woman just gave to him for nowt  it is on an m reg but with 20k km on it. central heating, toilet, shower, hot water etc.

but is it cool?

of course it is.

its got aircon ;)
