I think my brake servo needs reconditioning. Does anyone know if this is possible, and if so, can it only be done by a specialist?

If it can't be done, do you think a functional secondhand replacement would be better than a new one?

I've just bought the Brazilian one for £80 ish, its a proper TRW/VARGA one and build quality seems fine, theres a guide on the forum to fit to early bay in the tech links above on this forum. (Ignore the master cylinder, using new cylinder with old reservoir)

Basically just have to make 4 new mounting holes (using a grinder and round file if beam is still on the van)

Better than £300 for a german one

Assuming a recon company would be over £100 anyway

I had a complete servo failure this weekend and had to be towed back home :( I've been advised that you should replace with a new servo preferably the german build one which obviously cost much more but there is much messing about with the Brazilian one in order to fit it to the bus. One is a straight swap and the cheaper one is not which as you are going to have to modify it.
