My wifes crossover bay has the 1600 engine with Empi carb which I believe is a copy / reproduction of the solex? we have had a few issues with stalling etc and to be honest the carb seems a little cheap / loose / worn and we are therfore looking for a suitable replacement. We are not looking for any big change ie twin cars etc (although the idea is nice). Ideally something that would be a direct swap, I have always found Webbers to be my prefered carb but any advice or recomendations would be appreciated.
