Charging/Direct 12volt power from 240volt supply

Hi. Our bay has a leisure battery with relay charging, it also has a 240 supply with sockets but this does not charge or feed the 12volt system. Is there a SIMPLE way of producing a feed to the leisure battery which will charge it and create enough to allow the 12volt fridge to not cut out when the engine stops? Don't really want to go the Zig route. Is it possible to wire in a standard 12volt charger? I tried with a very basic one I have but the fridge just pulsed on and off. Thanks
