Hi,
Just got a nice 71 westy would like some advice on cleaning the louvre windows. The metalwork looks a bit tarnished and could do with polishing up. Any advice on what stuff to use greatly appreciated :)

Have a look at Bwuttonmoon's thread.

I considered doing mine and thought they would look fab when they are shiny. Then I remembered I used to do chemistry at school and as they are aluminium, all the polishing does is remove the aluminium oxide. And after a bit, the aluminium re oxidises and will go dull again.

So I didn't bother.

Hope that helps.

Thanks for that. One job for the winter I think  . Any magic quick fix cure to shine it up? :)

I've just done mine with Maguires metal polish and fine wire wool. Comes up really well and the Maguires has a wax/ sealant content that let's the water run off like a good car wax.
