Hi I've mounted my coil to the side of the spare wheel well as I got though 2 new coils in three years I moved it and no problems since I just needed alonger ht lead and bingo all done. I no it's not everybody's brew but it works for me. Cheers Phil
 
You could just fit two Riv Nuts and put it in the stock position, a ruv nut gun and riv nuts is about £20 and a handy tool to have.
