Hi all,

So my Adventurewagen doesn't seem to have ever had curtains and I want curtains :D

I'm after some advice please, sizings for fabric if I decide to go down the "make it myself" route, what track/rail do I need? Any advice on the best way to do this would be very much appreciated. There's info on Google but I much prefer to ask fellow early bayers :D :)

You can buy a repro curtain rail from the likes of NLAVW or go for the silent gliss rails. I have an original rail on one side and the silent gliss on the rest. Male/ female poppers on the front cab. I can't help with sizes, but there is a thread I believe where Dirty Harry done the exact measurements.

I got mine made up by Joanne at Trimshack using material I supplied....much less hassle and cheap.

Great, I'll have a look at that. Thanks :D

Sew little Neodymium magnets into the curtain material which attach to the metal panels.

Sounds interesting, how do you then open and close the curtains?
Slide the magnets along the metal panel?

At some point I plan to make my curtains and use the magnet idea, I bought the magnets from eBay a year ago! Currently still using thermomats..

I used silent gliss on back and sides. For cab area single piece curtain with elastic around the top and press studs. Works great, easy up,easy down and easy stored.

I'm in York if you want to come around and see how they're installed

That would be really helpful, yes please :)

My plan has always been to use curtain rail at the top and hem some magnets in to the bottoms to keep the curtains back/ tight.

I think that's the option I like, with magnets in the bottom corners.

Exactly, though it did occur to me they could be hard to get through the sewing machine if they keep sticking to it!!
