To celebrate owning my Van for 5 years tomorrow I thought Its about time I started a gallery of some sorts.

It's my daily driver and has only ever let me down twice on the road in over 20,000 miles!
(Accelerator cable and fuel pump)

So for our 5th anniversary ;) it's currently in the process of having a nice new 1776 install
Plus twin 40 IDF's added!
:p

Anyway here's some for starters.....

Spence

My obsession for VW's started at the 1989 Bug Jam but it wasn't until '91 that I bought
This from a fella in the Medway Towns...

After a couple more bugs and a 10 year hiatus I bought our Westy.

It's original CA licence plate!

USA plates fitted

Camping

Shipped over from Sacramento

Extra vision technology....

Very nice :)

Your pics have reminded me I have a brand new original Helphos at home somewhere for mine :)

Cheers!

Dig it out and fit it!! - If the bulb is shot there is a fella on eBay that sells good quality replacements - PM me if you need the details

My worn out 1600tp came out this week!

Ready for this new baby to go in!
1776cc, 110 cam, plus twin Weber 40 IDF's with CB performance manifolds and linkage.

Good story 8)

Will pull like a train when the new engine is in so looking forward to the updates!

good luck with the new engine mate, you fitting yourself ?

Thanks Howie,

I've entrusted it to Karl at Wolfsburg Wizards.
Would love to attempt it myself but don't want to cock it up!

Engine now fitted - being fired up today - hope to pick her up tomorrow.

No new pics so here's an oldie.....

My 9 year old daughter Freya, took this photo.
She refers to it as the "Simpsons Sky"

I took the Gütterßnipe home today!

Compete with new 1776, Engle 110 and twin Weber 40 IDF's

Me a happy bunny 8)

Roll on the running in process.....

more info needed mate, you can't get away with just your ''happy bunny'' comment and not tell us anything else about the drive home
looks good but how does the throttle feel now you have the extra POWER :D

It's not going to be before long until someone comments on the fuelfilter in the engine bay...
Also wondering what the chrome thing on the left in your pic is? An extra fuel pump?

Fuel filter - you've commented already :)
I'm getting this changed over pretty pronto
The thing on the left is a pressure regulator,
Was told by Karl at Wolfsburg Wizards that this
Was required. So he bunged it on as part if the fitting process.

I'm taking it to get the carbs balanced properly today then
Having a rolling road tune up next week (not Dyno!) to get the carbs
properly jetted and sorted.

How does it feel Spence? A noticeable difference?

Hi Jeremy, Something's definitely lurking in there but until the carbs are sorted proper I'm
Gonna have to hold off :)

Hello mate,

The Happy Bunny comment was a bit shit
I'm waiting for the carbs to be sorted proper before
I can let loose a bit more - still running in...

Throttle response was bloody looney though!

Carbs were balanced today - running better already.....

Taking it to Classic and Race in Copthorne, Surrey next week to get them Jetted and tuned correctly.

Not a lot of driving until then I'm afraid....
