It was the Rubber Tramp article that caught my eye .. then I saw one close up. I’ve also seen a T5 conversion 😝
I like the look and the extra space. I’ve got pictures of Jurgen Auto Villas but did like this look and I knew it was done themselves.
Suppose would need a lot of upgrades- chassis/ bigger engine/ disc brakes/ suspension……
still would if I could though 🤗

Worked on a T3 version, was a right PIA to get to the engine. Not sure I would want one but the "so ugly it's good" gets my vote.

In April 1980, I saw a 1976~79 VW 2000 Type 2 Jurgens Autovilla, Luton-bodied motor-caravan, on the campsite at Richard's Bai, South Africa. They are quite roomy inside, but the greater aerodynamic drag, would probably reduce the maximum attainable speed, with the 70 horsepower, 2.0 litre, VW Type 4 style air-cooled engine! There was an earlier, non Luton-bodied version with the 68 horsepower, 1.8 litre, VW Type 4 style air-cooled engine.

Wow - I am fairly ostentatious… but that’s a bit loud for me !

I think for me the dream would be get a good chassis… then build it from there.

Or a single cab. Got my own thoughts on layout etc.

I do like them though 🌈👍
