Dizzy drive shaft alignment

How do i set this correctly?
Think i read that the offset of the shaft needs to be pointing anti-clockwise and inserted pointing towards 1 of the fuel pump studs?
Is this correct?
this is the only thing stopping me finally completing the re-build

Its the actual shaft that i need to get aligned properly so i can fit it into the engine casing.
The engine case is built, nealry everything is ready and as soon as i can fit the shaft i probably have about 1-2 hours work left before turning the key!

Hi, Simon

This process is carried out at tdc on cylinder 1.
You want it so that the slot is bias to the right (pulley end of the engine) perpendicular to the crankshaft. You need to put it in slightly rotated anticlockwise, as it rotates slightly on insertion.

Before you insert it make sure you lightly grease the shims and slide them down a screw driver or metal rod on to there location surface on the casing. Then align them centrally with the hole to ensure the shaft drops straight in.

It may catch on the edge of the gear on the way in, so all you need to do then is rotate it slightly until it engages, you can view this down the fuel pump hole.
