When i bought my bus the interior was ripped out and just thown in the back in a pile. I dont actually know how the bed folds out in a dormobile, has anyone got a picture so i can make sense of all these bits and pieces that are currently residing in my greenhouse off all places - running out of space!!! :?

Not got any decent pics but will try to explain.................

Across the rear of the van, at waist height, along the edge of the loading
area runs a 2 inch (or there about's) tube which the rear of the bed hangs
on to.
The base should then sit ontop of a couple of metal strips which jut out
from front to rear.

To make the bed, you pull the base up so that it is flat with the back then
it slide to the drivers side, resting on the side unit then the table (which
is stored under the base of the seat) is then erected to take therest of the
weight.

Hope this helps.
If not, next time I'm in the van, I will take some pics!

Many thanks! i think that helps, how easy do you find this conversion to live with?.

Its the crappest bit of the dormobile design and its a pain in the bum to get up especially after a few beers!

I've got rid of mine now and will be using the hinge only with lockable gas actuators to put the bed up automatically.

Cheers mate, thats what i thought too, not the best conversion if you want a love life eh!!. I am sorely tempted to ditch the dormobile interior and try and get a cheap devon one for it. The reason i like the dormobile though is the massive pop top, so i could have the best of both wolrds then. I know it would be best to keep the van original, but i could store the interior and refit it if i had to sell the bus at some stage. I dont think this will happen because of the amount of time i've spent on it.
