Aparently the worst road for this is the AP7 which runs down the east side of Spain right down to the south! Seems to happen to a lot of nieve tourists, many from the uk, eastern europeans seem to be the main culprits! I use this road fairly regually, but you have to keep your guard up, dont pull over if someone indicates you have a problem with your motor etc and watch it if someone distracts you asking for directions etc!
