Early Bay Steering Options

Howdy all .


I currently run a 4 inch narrowed beam with drop spindles on my 69 bay(Lhd).
I have a bit of play in my steering box which might adjust but my not.

This got my thinking :

Are there any UK companies out there that anyone can overhaul steering boxes?
Also what are the options for steering rack conversions( I know red 9 is one of them).
I know running my bus low isn't as vw intended & may prematurely wear out
components.


I'm just looking to weigh up the frozen prawns at the moment so all information,trials & tribulations is welcome.

Hi Dan,
Have just had my Karmann Ghia steering box reconditioned by a company called CPS of Team Valley , Gateshead, Tyne and Wear. Did a first class job at reasonable price. I know it's long way from you and they don't deal direct with general public but if you have a local friendly garage ask them to send it to them for you. I bought a 'new ' box which turned out to be crap so got my original box refurbished. Took them 5 days from getting it .
